Crowdsourced Fairytale Wedding

We’ve heard of crowdsourced books and various creative projects, but today we came across this touching crowdsourced wedding, which gave 28-year-old bride, Megan Wolfe her fairytale wedding. Megan was informed in March this year that she had contracted stomach cancer and had only one more year to live.

After receiving news of her illness, Megan had neither the means or time to plan her wedding. Fortunately, family, friends and generous strangers stepped forward to provide support and help materialise her wedding. In total, she received more than $15,000 worth of goods and services, which included her wedding dress, wedding venue, limousine, bridesmaids’ dresses, hotel suite, and so on.

Megan said after the wedding, “I feel very thankful to everyone for everything they did. It brings tears to my eyes. It is way more than I expected. This is my dream.”

Megan’s wedding was made possible with the help of GozAround, a new online crowdsourcing platform. Co-founder Ben Block said, “I think this will be one of those things that we’ll look back on for many years. I think there is something powerful about helping a couple.”

With the world becoming a smaller place with the help of Internet, sometimes we find that dreams are no longer unachievable, and as long as there is a worthy cause, it will find an audience among the kind-hearted people in the world. Our heartfelt congrats to Megan!
