If you are a nature lover, you definitely can’t miss seeing the idyllic Lake Bled situated in Slovenia at least once in your life! This lake with cerulean waters emerging from the surrounding Julian Alps, with a small island right in the middle of it is like a picture that came right out of fairytales. Not only is the lake surreal, a quaint church on the Bled island dating back to the 17th century is an embodiment of beauty as well. Tradition has it that a groom should carry his bride up all the 99 stone steps of the monumental staircase in the church, ring the church bell together and make a wish. You and your significant other can rent a rowboat to get to the Bled island in the middle, and soak in the atmosphere of love there! Even if it’s a legend, if the gentleman is game for this physical test of love, why not give it a go and ring that bell to wish for everlasting marriage bliss? This will surely be a priceless honeymoon experience!

2. Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

A must-visit site in Balkan, the Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia’s most renowned tourist attraction, and was given the UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979. If you love immersing yourself in the magnificence of nature, you will definitely be amazed by the stunning beauty of this park. There are 16 lakes, 12 on the upper cluster and 4 on the lower cluster, interconnected by a series of waterfalls over an estimated distance of 8km. See what nature has in store for you as you walk along winding wooden pathways and witness the lakes changing colours ranging from azure to green, grey or blue! This change in colours is the result of algae, mineral content or organisms present in the water as well as the angle of sunlight. What an exhilarating backdrop for an Instagram-worthy couple shot!  If you choose to visit in winter, the frozen lakes and waterfalls will also offer a brilliant and magical experience! Another sight you will not want to miss is the wide variety of flora and fauna. Spot rare animal and bird species such as the European brown bear, wolf, eagle, owl, lynx, wild cat and capercaillie. The park is open daily, with an entrance fee applicable for the maintenance and protection of the area.
