Here at Wedding & Travel we’re always on the lookout for exciting designs, and we were absolutely excited to come across Rime Arodaky’s 2014 collection, which is bold, sexy and perfect for the urban bride.
For the less initiated, Rime Arodaky is a young and dynamic French designer. After graduating from the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne, she went on to work for Sonia Rykiel and Dice Kayek, where she honed her skills. It was only in 2010 that Rime Arodaky started her own label to provide brides with modern “bohemian rock” designs.
While romantic and feminine wedding dresses are one aplenty, we were blown away by Rime Arodaky’s edgy designs that challenge the notion that wedding dresses are one-off products for that special day. Looking at Rime Arodaky’s creations, one will not be surprised to find similar designs off the season’s hottest runways. Apart from extremely wearable designs, we also love Rime Arodaky’s vision and imagination — her 2014 collection was conceptualised based on a rock love story, and her lookbook amply expands on the idea. Instead of meticulously posed pictures, we love the casual and natural “in action” photoshoot that give us an idea of how the dresses move when worn. The rugged chic photos set in high contrast black and white also bring to mind images of an urban Bonnie and Clyde — this gets two thumbs up from us for being absolutely fashion forward!
