Lifestyle: Cats of the World

Cat lovers, the month ahead promises to be a celebration of love for your feline friends!

In its seventh edition thus far, the annual community project Cats of the World, founded by 2 passionate cat lovers Carlyn Law and Noelle Tan, is back at The Arts House with its signature month-long photo exhibition! Indulge in snapshots of your favorite feline creatures from all over the world and do a good cause by purchasing the postcards, bookmarks and other merchandise featuring these exhibits. Last year, close to $3,700 was raised for the Cat Welfare Society in Singapore and all proceeds this year will go the organization to aid its work in reducing the local stray cat community.

An instgram cat-egory (pun intended) for smartphone users to share their photos, has also been introduced this year. To join in the fun, simply upload your picture on Instagram with the hashtag #catsoftheworldphotoexhibition.

Apart from the photo exhibition, there is an additional reason for you to pop by the event on a Saturday. For the popular “Purrzaar Market” will be taking place on Aug-3, 10 and 17 respectively from 11am till 6pm! This unique feline-themed flea market will offer a range of quirky cat-related lifestyle merchandise such as postcards, dolls, cushions, notebooks, tote bags, brooches, accessories and artwork lovingly made by local artists and designers. Read up more on the vendors here!

Admission is free for both the exhibition and flea market. So, remember to pop by for a good cause and get to know fellow cat lovers in the coming month!
