Lifestyle: Head to Supply and Demand for a romantic dinner

It’s almost a rarity to find quiet restaurants even on weekdays here in Singapore, so of course we were pleasantly surprised to find a relatively less crowded spot near the city area on a weekday night.

But don’t judge this restaurant, Supply and Demand, just yet. Considering how it is relatively a new kid on the block (having only opened in July 2013), it is perhaps still very much under the radar as of now but we think this won’t be the case for long.

What we love about this 200-seater eatery, apart from its wooden interior intertwined with laid-back elements like plenty of indoor greenery as well as a bicycle hung on the wall, is its full-glass windows, allowing one to take in the view along the Singapore River as well as the stunning city skyline across. When W&T was there, we spotted more than one pair of couple having a great night with a candlelight dinner at the seats with the best city view. If you prefer, there is also the rooftop to opt for alfresco dining under the stars! Talk about having a romantic night with your other half!

Serving a mix of Italian and Peruvian cuisine, the menu here at Supply and Demand is pretty comprehensive. We’d say go for Italian favorites like the Truffle with Egg Pizza which don’t just look good but taste brilliant, as well as pastas which comes with a choice of 3 different base sauces. Appetisers wise, Anticuchos aka skewered meat is a perfectly-grilled choice to get the meal started.

Truffle fries lover can also opt to have their fix here, but if you prefer shoestring fries, then the chunky cut here may disappoint.
