Looking for something to do this weekend? Singapore’s leading youth art festival, Noise Singapore (organised by the National Arts Council) is back with exciting showcases featuring our very own young artists, designers, musicians and photographers, starting this weekend!
The Apprenticeship Programme Exhibition @ Singapore Art Museum 8Q Level 4, 27 July – 1 September 2013
Unknowing by Zen Teh
Warbunnies – Make War Not Love by Chua Eng Chee
The Apprenticeship Programme exhibition is the fruit of labour for 70 young artist ‘mentees’ as they understudy, consult and learn from industry professional ‘mentors’ over a four-month period to produce their piece of work. As a lead-up programme for the Singapore Biennale happening later this year, the young mentees likewise reflected on this year’s theme “If the world changed…” and provided their interpretations on it. We’re looking forward to seeing the imaginative narratives that these young artists have come up with!
Noise Singapore Showcase Exhibition, ION Orchard B4, 27 July – 14 August 2013
The Extremely Hazardous Fast Food Factory by Victoria Moey
Kuih Muih by Wee Ho Gai
From a staggering 9,000 submissions (wow!), this exhibition has curated 200 of the best works across various genres and mediums to be displayed at ION Station, Level B4 of ION Orchard. Next time you’re in the area for your shopping fix, why not take a break from retail therapy to check out these dynamic creations?
The Music Mentorship Concerts, 16-18 August 2013, Esplanade Outdoor Theatre and Concourse
Join Noise Singapore’s music mentees as they put on an electrifying show at the Esplanade over a weekend! Having spent nearly 4 months under the wings of mentors such as composer-producer Don Richmond, musicians Saiful Idris of The Great Spy Experiment, and Sara Wee of 53A, these young musicians are ready to rock and put up a great show!
We can’t wait to get out there! Help keep their dreams alive, support the local arts scene.
