Lifestyle: Real Food

Healthy diets do not have to mean unpalatable food that you can hardly taste. Brides looking for a healthier diet to kickstart your beauty regime would be delighted with Real Food Grocer, a small independent cafe that serves good organic food.

Started by a group of three individuals, Real Good Grocer believes in serving honest ethical food to its consumers — the cafe’s menu is free from processed ingredients, artificial preservations and trans-fats; they also spend time to source ingredients from known origins and farms.

While organic food might bring to mind images like raw vegetables and tofu dishes, you will be happy to know that you can get your regular sweet fixes such as strawberries and banana pancakes, and blueberries and banana french toast at Real Food Grocer. Our personal favourite on the menu would be the extensive juice menu, which boasts innovative concoctions such as wheatgrass apple, celery carrot pineapple, and so on. Each juice comes with a description of its benefits to your body, so do take your time picking out your favoured mix!

The cafe swears by serving slow food, meaning, they prepare your food only when your order is placed — a refreshing take on F&B, we say, especially when there are other places on the scene that value speed over quality of food. This goodness comes at reasonable prices too. You can get all-day breakfast and sandwiches at under S$10, and mains (pastas and pizzas) start from S$10 onwards. Juices cost around S$6.

To get a taste of real food, you can visit any of their outlets at Central, Square 2, Killiney or West Coast.
