Mary-Kate Olsen’s Wedding Style

Ever since Mary-Kate Olsen was reported to be engaged with former France president’s half-brother, Olivier Sarkozy, all eyes have been on how the fashionista’s wedding will turn out, from the ring to the dress.

Mary-Kate was seen flaunting her rock at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. According to StyleCaster, the ring in question is a 1953 Cartier creation that features a 4-carat diamond flanked by 16 sapphires — definitely something that is right up Mary-Kate’s style alley, given her penchant for vintage fashion!

The Dress

While there is still no news on the date of the nuptials, the fashion industry has already started its predictions of what Mary-Kate will wear when she walks down the aisle. Among the picks, it is no surprise that many are unconventional wedding dresses that recall the old-world charm of yesteryears. Light, dreamy fabrics such as chiffon and lace also featured heavily in the choices. We’ve rounded up some of the choices below; they might serve as good inspiration for your wedding too! Definitely our favourite from the list, these dresses from Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2014/15 collection are perfect for a bohemian chic wedding that fits Mary-Kate Olsen’s style to a T. The combination of transparent chiffon, silk tulle, charming vintage hues and delicate floral embroidery make for a strong impression as a wedding dress.

These dresses from Claire Pettibone’s 2014 collection are romantic wedding dresses with that extra oomph that sets them apart from the regular white dress. As with other Claire Pettibone creation, this collection draws significant inspiration from the vintage aesthetic, with its empire cut gowns, layered skirts and generous use of lace and floral motifs.

These dresses from Pronovias’ 2014 collection are right on trend, drawing on influences from the roaring 20s — a style that has no signs of dying down just yet. Focusing on sophisticated and luxurious details such as pencil skirts, feathers and sheer overlays, this collection is high on the glamour factor and would be spot on for Mary-Kate’s wedding.

Last but not least, we also adore this traditional vintage look from Reem Acra’s winter collection. Featuring heavy use of silk and satin, and setting off the dresses with diamonds in the details, the results are a decidedly luxe look that dazzles. While this style might look dated worn by others, we say that Mary-Kate could effortlessly carry off this look, seeing her flair for vintage fashion.
