It’s official. After nearly a month of speculation fuelled by hints of pregnancy and plans for a secret wedding, Hong Kong actor Moses Chan and fellow TVB star Aimee Chan are finally Mr and Mrs Chan!

The newlyweds first made the announcement via the bride’s weibo account on Wednesday. The status which says “We are married! The next chapter to our life story begins today… Merci a tous!” was accompanied by a blissful photo of the couple in Paris.

According to the 42-year-old groom, the couple had decided to tie the knot in Paris as this was where their relationship first began. The TVB golden couple, with an age difference of 10 years, first met on the set of TVB drama “Master of Play” in 2011. Since then, any hints of developments between the eligible bachelor and the Canadian-born actress have constantly been in the spotlight.

Rumors of a pending marriage and possible pregnancy first arose early this month when the 32-year-old Aimee suddenly withdrew from martial arts drama “Cold Mountain, Hidden Dragon” and went on extended leave. It is said that Aimee had returned to Canada after the wedding while Moses touched down at Hong Kong earlier today and finally admitted to being a father: “Many happy things have happened to us at one go this year. It has been a blessed year, we are grateful.”

The question whether Moses will retire from showbiz, however, remains unanswered. Despite a failed venture in Malaysia, the popular actor had previously announced his preference to start his own cafe should he get married. However, fans should still be able to see their favorite leading man on the screens, at least for awhile longer.

According to Hong Kong media, TVB is pushing for the couple to hold a banquet in Hong Kong later this year. Apart from sending a representative from the higher management to persuade the couple, a grand lavish event at a five-star hotel or the Shaw Studios streamed live on tv is apparently part of the deal. While this remains unconfirmed at press time, one thing seems for sure: we will definitely be seeing more of Moses and Aimee in days to come.

Trivia we think you’d want to know:
