Steal the look of… Joanne Peh

Singapore’s most famous newly-weds can’t seem to keep their bliss to themselves! In a column published in Lianhe Zaobao on 22 September, Qi Yuwu muses about being married, and wrote that Joanne Peh was like a “mirror” that shows him all his good and bad. Altogether now, awww!

Well, today, we’re here to share more about what went on behind the scenes of Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu’s super private wedding ceremony at Sentosa, and more importantly, to give you a few tips on how to achieve Joanne Peh’s natural and healthy bride look!

Make-up and Hair

Celebrity make-up artist Kenneth Lee created a “clean and natural look” for Joanne Peh. If you’ve seen photos from the couple’s wedding ceremony, you would have noticed that Joanne Peh definitely looks less made up than most other brides out there! Kenneth Lee said that he wanted something less exaggerated on Joanne Peh, and that was why he laid off the false eyelashes, and instead, just gave her a natural glow for skin, a pink-toned eye shadow, a light eyeliner and mascara for eyes, and a peach-orange lip.

Joanne Peh’s hair, done up by celebrity hairstylist David Gan, was likewise simple and elegant — it was a chic sleeked back look that complemented her veil. (Psst, we loved how the orchid was subtly worked into Joanne Peh’s hair design — perfect for a uniquely Singapore wedding that took place in front of the Merlion!)

Wedding Gown

Joanne Peh’s wedding gown, designed by local designer Lai Chen, is absolutely clean and minimal in terms of silhouette and design, and features only a low scoop back to show off her toned back. We reckon urban, confident brides would love this wedding style! Here are a couple of beautiful scoop back wedding dresses to give you some inspiration!

We think that this dainty and delicate low back dress from Elizabeth Fillmore’s Spring 2015 collection will be a hit with every boho bride out there. The thin straps are also one of the most popular trends off the Spring 2015 runways! (Photo from Pinterest)

This sleek and clean number from Elle Hemingway is the closest in terms of style to Joanne Peh’s look, we think! The row of tiny buttons that runs all the way to the hem are also an interesting touch. (Photo from Pinterest)
