Vogue’s Beauty Guide for Spring 2014

After a spell of cool sub-20 degrees weather some weeks back, Singapore is back to its balmy temperatures, and we can officially declare that spring is here! Today, we round up some of the hottest Spring 2014 beauty trends from Vogue that may be useful inspiration for your wedding!

Gilded Accents

If you’re looking for the hottest new trend to incorporate to your wedding this spring, there is no doubt that gold ranks at the top of the list. Gold was used generously on the runways this season — brushed onto the lids, painted over brows, and even threaded into hairlines and lashes. For a glamorous and extravagant evening look, this is definitely one strong contender!

Pops of Colour

v1-1 v1-2 v1-3

Different from the muted and minimal aesthetics of the fall/winter season, Spring 2014 sees revived interest in single, saturated pops of colour on the face. Instead of the usual full red or fuchsia, Spring 2014 runways featured new cool funky shades — chemical peach (Fendi), techno orange (Rag & Bone) to powdery, prettiest lilac (Prabal Gurung). To make a strong impression, be it in the day or at night, we definitely recommend this look!

Crowning Glory

v2-1 v2-2 v2-3 v2-4

The Spring 2014 runways also provided new food for thought for hair as well — from street-influenced oversized bows to classy chic half-tied black ribbons, there are no lack of looks you can take a leaf from to spice up your style for your wedding day! We especially recommend weaving flowers into an elegant chignon, as spotted from Dolce and Gabanna — definitely the best look for a romantic garden/outdoor wedding in our tropical climate, or for spring-themed weddings!
