Match with Colours

Colours are not only visually appealing, but also have special meanings. Choose a colour that is bright and sunny to make the two of you stand out from the crowd. Blue is the colour of the sky and sea, symbolizing faith, trust and loyalty. Orange represents enthusiasm, happiness and creativity. Red gives off feelings of passion, energy and warmth. Yellow is associated with cheerfulness, energy and joy. If your man doesn’t mind, challenge yourself with pink! Pink is a delicate colour that is sweet, romantic and tender. Colours can evoke a wide range of emotions, choose a colour that best represents your love for one another!

Denim Lovers

Go for the classic, versatile denim look and draw attention from people without much effort. You and your other half can choose to go full denim by wearing your favourite denim shirts along with pants of contrasting colours. If this is too cheesy, why not have the lady opt for a denim dress or dungarees, and the guy with a casual shirt topped off with a denim outerwear? For more reserved couples, you can simply embellish your outfits with a hint of denim in it. The guys can wear a denim cap to match with the ladies’ denim shorts.

Alternate Styled Wear

An all-time favourite way of matching couple outfits without seeming like you are showing off to the whole world is to go alternate with matching hues or designs. Two of you can decide on one design or hue and style your outfits with that. For example, the guy can wear a striped or checkered shirt, and the lady can match that with a striped or checkered shoes in shades of the same hue.

Subtle Matching Look

Accessories are ideal for giving that perfect finishing touch to an outfit. Choose matching accessories such as rings, belts, watches or handphone covers to give a tinge of romance without being too high profile. Accessories are great understated add-ons to your outfits to express the unspoken attraction between the two of you. Couple rings are a symbol of eternity and signify everlasting love for each other. A couple watch can bring out a stylish and elegant look that will complement any outfit.

A relationship is a long journey that needs endurance. Show your partner that you will be there to share times of happiness and sadness. Choose to match your footwear to bring out your faith in this love. Guys can go for maroon sneakers, while ladies can match that with scarlet heels. Opt for footwear of different shades of the same hue for a non-tacky look.

Travel: Looking for a new stay in Taipei? Here’s one

While some travelers crave for a hotel that can pamper them during overseas trips, others prefer a cheap, functional room just to catch some sleep. Now, both groups can be satisfied at this gem we found in one of the hippiest area in Taipei city.

Located in the trendy shopping and dining “Shinjuku” district of Taiwan’s capital, Amba Taipei Ximending, opened by Ambassador Hotel in February 2012, stands out from run-of-the-mill hotels and exudes a mix-and-match hospitality experience of arts, accommodation, gourmet food and music.

Offering clean, minimalistic rooms and bold visual illustrations representing the location Ximending, Amba is named after the first four alphabets of Ambassador Hotel. Hence, the hotel space revolves around the word ‘ba’, which means ‘let’s’.

For example, reception is renamed as ‘wenba’ (let’s ask), main restaurant’s name is ‘chiba’ (let’s eat), dessert bar is known as ‘tianba’ (let’s sweet), etc.

While the place is branded as a budget hotel, we think budget is clearly unsuitable. Apart from spacious and comfortable hotel rooms, the restaurant offers a hearty breakfast buffet, with a vast selection of juice, teas and open cooking stations where guests can choose from a wide range of dishes including eggs, porridge, waffles and much more.

What we love even more are deluxe bath products that are provided in every room and exclusively provided by socially responsible Taiwanese brand, Ginger. This writer and her friends really liked the products after trying it out, hence we decided to buy some of them at the hotel lobby.

All in all, Amba Hotel is an outstanding boutique hotel with excellent service and immaculate accommodation!

China’s hottest wedding photography trend

A new way of shooting wedding photos is trending in the mainland and that is to go underwater.

According to BBC, China’s marriage market has been booming along with its economy for the past few years.
According to state media, the money spent on ceremonies, catering, honeymoons and hospitality for one’s big day in China has grown from almost nothing a couple of decades ago to a whopping annual 800 billion yuan ($130 billion).

Couples are willing to fork out the money to commemorate their nuptials in a big and unique way. Other than flying to South Korea for a K-pop wedding photography, going underwater for a photoshoot – pioneered by a Shanghai-based wedding firm called Mr Wedding – is the next big thing.

“People can do a lot of almost impossible postures under water,” the founder and owner of Mr Wedding Tina Liu said, according to BBC. “The sense of losing gravity creates the beauty of floating.”

According to CNBC, Mr Wedding first came up with this concept 2 years ago. They proceeded to build a tank in their studio for the service, which started gaining traction a year later. Liu says the service attracts mostly younger couples who crave for adventure and uniqueness.

Cool! This engagement ring box blew us away!

If you always wondered why the ring box comes in just one shape and size (and the men probably find it a little too bulky for their pockets) and reckon that it’s time for a change, here’s one piece of great news.

First read on Buzzfeed, the man behind this ingenious ring box is 26-year-old Andrew Zo who decided to take it upon himself to fix the “flaw” he sees in the ring box – too bulky.

“The friends that I had interviewed told me that it is a very nerve-wrecking experience trying to hide a very bulky box in the pocket,” he said according to the site.

And so Zo decided to come up with this Clifton engagement ring case, which is flat and thin enough to fit into a wallet! Grooms-to-be can finally say goodbye to the unsightly bulge in your pocket while trying to spring a surprise on your girlfriend!

Zo, who is based in Vancouver, crafts each box by hand. According to Buzzfeed, he has had so many orders for the USD$90 ring box that he’s had to stop taking orders until end-September!
