American couple Mark & Patricia exchanged their vows in front of 30 of their family and friends in the Montespertoli countryside. The lovely secluded stone farmhouse where they chose to gather their family and friends for a week’s vacation was the perfect setting for their elegant, timeless and personal wedding. Set on 10 acres of olive groves, this magnificent property belongs to a renowned French artist that has chosen to make this breathtaking region his home.
Mark is a famous orchestra conductor, and Patricia a famous classical dancer. The Catholic ‘blessing’ ceremony was held in front of the olive grove of the farmhouse with breathtaking scenic views over the beautiful Florence Chianti hills. The late afternoon air was fragrant with smells of sunshine and freshly cut grass. Patricia, in a strapless hand-beaded ivory dress, walked arm in arm with her father to the sounds of Ave Maria, played by their friends (professional classical musicians and singers) from New York.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to a tree-shaded patio for a delicious aperitivo before making their way to the reception area next to the pool. Fresh red roses and gerberas, soft candles and lanterns lit the pool area in the stunning gardens of the rustic villa whilst everyone dined on traditional Tuscan dishes, market-fresh and locally grown, and enjoyed the wine was made from the grapes of the surrounding vineyards.
After dinner everyone was treated to the most delicious wedding cake made from fresh summer berries, and ended the night dancing under the stars to the sounds of traditional Italian music.
